Amplified challenges for women in STEM.

A 2017 Catalyst study reports:
Less than a third (28.8%) of those employed in scientific research and development (R&D) across the world in 2014 are women.

Women of color made up slightly less than 10% of working scientists and engineers in the United States in 2015.

Nearly one third of women in the United States (32%) and China (30%) intend to leave their SET (science, engineering, technology) jobs within a year.

Globally, women made up on 12.2% of women on boards in the information technology industry in 2015- lower than consumer (17.4%) and finance (16.9%).

In the U.S., women in computer, engineering, and science occupations were paid an estimated 79.2% of men’s annual median earnings in 2016.
